New Art Exchange Welcomes Rastarella Falade

New Art Exchange Welcomes Rastarella Falade as Associate Artistic Director

New Art Exchange (NAE) is excited to announce the appointment of Rastarella Falade as our new Associate Artistic Director. Rastarella joins NAE through Transform, an 18-month leadership program designed to support Global Ethnic Majority leaders in stepping into senior roles as Executives, Curators, and Trustees.

Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, Rastarella has called Nottingham home since 2000. For over 16 years, she has dedicated her career to amplifying the voices of Global Ethnic Majority communities and celebrating underrepresented populations. Her work has been instrumental in strengthening cultural identity, creating platforms for diverse artists, and ensuring that communities often overlooked are given the opportunity to shine.

At NAE, Rastarella will play a central role in shaping the organisation’s artistic vision. As part of her new position, she will lead the creative direction of a significant season of work scheduled for summer 2026, focusing on Hyson Green and fostering deep connections within the community. Her extensive experience and community-first approach will enable NAE to continue its mission of supporting artists and audiences from the Global Ethnic Majority while celebrating Nottingham’s rich cultural diversity.

Speaking about her appointment, Rastarella expressed:

“I am excited to join the New Art Exchange team at such a pivotal moment in my career. My passion has always been to celebrate and amplify Global Ethnic Majority voices, and NAE’s mission aligns perfectly with my vision. I look forward to building deep connections, fostering unity, and creating a greater sense of belonging for communities here in Hyson Green and across Nottingham.”

We are thrilled to welcome Rastarella to the NAE family and look forward to the creativity, passion, and vision she will bring to this new chapter.
