RESIDE 2027/28: OPEN CALL
Through RESIDE, artists and creative practitioners are given the opportunity to develop their practice, test new approaches and build meaningful connections with NAE and the communities we work alongside. We welcome proposals from a wide range of disciplines, including visual arts, writing, curation, design, performance, activism and interdisciplinary practice.
In line with NAE’s mission to champion diverse voices and perspectives, we particularly encourage applications from artists and creative practitioners from the Global Ethnic Majority. We are especially interested in proposals that connect with local communities and reflect NAE’s commitment to creativity, participation and social change.
Successful applicants will receive:
- Free access to NAE’s Studio Space for up to 8 weeks
- A bursary of £4,000
- Mentoring and professional development support from the NAE team
- Opportunities to raise the profile of their work through NAE’s networks and platforms
- Time and space to research, experiment and develop new ideas
Who can apply?
- Artists and creative practitioners aged 18 or over
- Individuals and collectives working in any medium
- Writers, curators, designers, performers, activists, visual artists and interdisciplinary practitioners
- Collectives are welcome to apply, provided at least one member meets the eligibility requirements
Residencies will take place between June 2027 and April 2028, with exact dates agreed with successful applicants. Each residency will last up to 8 weeks.
Saturday Art Club Facilitators
We are looking to add to our pool of facilitators, so we are calling out to anyone who may be interested in running a series of our Saturday Art Club sessions. We are looking for people who are keen to work with young people (12 and under) and their families across varying visual art forms. Each season will change to suit the main exhibition at NAE.
